'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the thrilling dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles amid the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful shot from distance, and his teammate promptly hammered in the loose ball before racing off toward the home end to revel in the moment, with fans swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

The victory capped an unbelievable comeback given the team had found themselves down 2-0 during the second half. During the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a fan shouting out and we were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a bit of craic with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result earned a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when his former team took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's long-range effort from about way out going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for attempting the shot from that distance," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right wing-back after the team changed shape. That meant facing off against Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who praised the way the underdogs attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the simple things and simple things, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It appears that they always find their target and they know how to control and neutralize a game. You can believe you're all right and then without warning they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even spotting it. You have to be alert at all times of the game. It demands a strong mentality and attention just to remain competitive."

Welsh Transition

Swansea pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a popular figure across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has swiftly replicated that in south Wales. At Orient he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at a League One side from United. Then came a loan at lower division the Manchester club, before he permanently left Old Trafford.

Learning Curve

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into senior level. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is completely distinct. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without real physicality. There are limited hard challenges. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

His progress reflects that growth for club and country, performing well for Northern Ireland, who are fighting to qualify for the global tournament next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the past five games, including home and away games against the German national team. Ian Baraclough, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his knack for a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

This represents a remarkable path for the player from the local area in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his dad, Stuart, also a central player, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

The player's sole appearance for United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to Astana, where they played on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to temperatures of freezing cold. "That proved to be a extended travel and it was chilly," he comments, chuckling. "The days leading up, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to leave United, the club he joined from Linfield aged his mid-teens? "It was relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the years at the club but it reached a stage where I thought I had to take a different path, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at the early evening: a driving theory test, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Prior to relocating to the local area, the 24-year-old was a regular in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a team vehicle driven by club employees, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, Malick Yalcouyé – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to interact with the teammates but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. Franco is known for his humor; he's always up to all sorts."

Supporter Connections

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on public transport after beginning his trip at Brentwood. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
